Our week at Seabreeze cottage has been absolute joy! The cottage itself is lovely and the welcome pack of clotted cream scones along with the beautiful vase of roses where very much appreciated.
Highlights have been: A walk to Mousehole along the SWC path, where we saw seals having a bask, and we had drinks at the lovely 'Old coastguard' overlooking the sea; A day at St Michael's Mount in glorious sunshine; and best of all- a trip to The Minack theatre to see 'Blithe Spirit' Such a stunning setting. We paid a visit to the breathtaking Porthcurno beach afterwards.
Along with all this we had a swim in the Lido at Penzance (the geothermal pool is particularly lovely) Two of our party went deep sea fishing, and other half visited the local galleries. The local Red Lion, serves excellent food- including a very fine crab salad.
Allin all, it has been a very special holiday- Thank-you!

Thank you, Jeanette and Simon, for providing us with a comfortable, well equipped home during our stay in Newlyn. It really is a lovely cottage, more than living up to the photos on your website. The terraces and views are exceptional, which seems rare amongst the jumble of cottages in the village. We also appreciated the easy, speedy contact with yourselves and the housekeeper.

Fantastic week at Seabreeze cottage, excellent base to explore this beautiful part of the world. Cottage provided everything we needed, real home-from-home. We were lucky enough to witness the hatching of three baby seagulls on the chimneys opposite the back garden. This was our first visit to this part of Cornwall and we have been blown away it's beauty.
Few highlights for us: Gwynver beach, surf lessons at Sennen Cove, Botallack mine and St Michael's Mount. Sure we will be back again!

Fabulous week, blessed with the most glorious weather. Enjoyed the view down the valley over the gardens- full of spring flowers.
Newlyn has lots to offer, from delicious fresh fish to cook. 'The Mackerel Sky seafood bar & 'Lovettes coffee and wine bar'. A day trip to the Scilly Isles was fantastic, we hired bikes and explored St Mary's coastline.
The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. It was lovely not to have to use the car, but just to wander down into Newlyn and along the sea front to penzance or Mousehole. The geothermal pool was so good, Just lazing soaking up the sun! There are also lots of one off shops and galleries to explore. Thank-you!

We spent Easter at Seabreeze. Lots of walking and visiting family. The weather has been unexpectedly glorious! Our dog has enjoyed sea swimming at Porthcurno and during walks to Penzance, Marazion & Long Rock. We have consumed many crab sandwiches and pasties and enjoyed the sea air. ( even got fitter each day climbing those hill's)
St Ives for breakfast and strolling along the beautiful cobbled streets and harbour. The Fishermans Arms, the Red Lion, Mackerel sky bar and the Coastguard in mousehole all fab for food and drinks.
Thank-you so much for welcoming us into your idylic cottage.

Thank-you for a wonderful stay, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Good weather and plenty of open air painting. We had a lovely dinner one night at the Mackerel Sky and fish & chips from Lewis. A special treat was watching Fishermans Friends - One & all at the Newlyn filmhouse and loving a mackerel supper in the restaurant afterwards. A hidden gem! Best of all where the crab sandwiches and cocktails at the Rockpool cafe in Mousehole.

We've had a lovely week in Newlyn, staying in a really comfortable and well catered for house. Although we have been coming to Cornwall for over 20 years, we have only driven through Newlyn- what a gem Newlyn is! We've had some really super meals- mackerel sky bar is a must, but be prepared to wait. Tolcarne is a must for fine dining, but value for money the Smugglers is better ( albeit a bit old fashioned), Fish and chips from the chippy at bottom of the hill are best I've ever had! We loved the little wine bar Lovetts, which was quirky, served great wine with brown crab on toast. Take away pizza from the bridge were good quality.
Made the most of the good weather and did walks to St Loys, Porthcurno, Porthgwarra, Pendeen and Porthernis, were we saw a seal with its pup. We also saw a seal at Sennen cove, we took pasties and baguettes most days and eat on the beach. Auntie May's a must for picnic supplies and pasties.
We will definitely be back, thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!

Wonderful return visit to the lovely Seabreeze Cottage, which always feels like home! We enjoyed our sea swims- the highlight being jumping waves at Porthcapel- swims at perronuthnoe, Gwithian, Porthcurno, Penzance and sennen. Cocktails at Rockpool cafe, Mousehole were made nonsensical by two seals and their acrobatics for an hour or more, followed by delicious food at the Old Coastguard. Gloomy weather on our last full day was brightened by a visit to the lovely Tremenheere Sculpture gardens. a week is never enough and we hope to be back next year! Thank-you Simon and Jeanette

04 Sep 2021

We had another wonderful week at Seabreeze, albeit a little drizzle!
We mostly left our car parked up outside here taking the gentle walk to Marazion via the prom, watching the trains and boats. Then the other way to Mousehole for crab sandwiches. A wonderful trip on the Cormorant boat, where we had the exciting experience of a dolphin up close, riding the waves!
Ate out at the Turks Head, Mackerel Sky, Artists Residence and Tolcarne Inn. Not forgetting Lewis Fish and chips shop.
Thank-you so much for our very welcome welcome basket- very thoughtful and useful. We are sure to return to Seabreeze again. Thank you.

Astrid and David from Bristol

Thanks so much for sharing your cottage with us. We have had such a wonderful stay and the weather was perfect every day.
We took your advice and visited the Sennen Cove, on a sunny but windy day-perfect! Watched the surfers enjoying themselves, was a feast for the eyes!!
Obviously we took in a lot of walking and had a good ramable most days. The best one was from the old tin mine to Pendeen Lighthouse and back!! A long walk along the cliff top trails in perfect weather, we loved that. Actually it was just so lovely to have a break from it all at this time.
Your cottage being so well set out and immaculately clean was just perfect for us.
Best meal was the Turks Head, very accommodating and friendly staff and good value with great service too. I could write for days but time to sign off. Thanks again.

A very comfortable cottage and a wonderful base to explore the area.
We really were delighted with your cottage. When I first arrived I was saying WOW, wow, wow! As I am a collector of a great many items, so I was pleased to wander around room to room to take in art, china and glass etc you have. Loved it all!
If you enjoy beaches Sennen Cove, Porthcurno & Praa Sands are gems. The beer in Cornwall (& larger) are always a welcome treat! I enjoyed the Tribute at the 'Swordfish Inn'. A visit to the 'Mackerel Sky' was a treat (Crab Nachos) were delicious. If you are not full up, take some fish and chips back, going up the hill for energy!
If you go out on 'Marine Discovery' catamaran, I hope you have more luck than we did, only managed to see seals. A trip earlier that day did see a pod of Dolfins and Baskin Sharks. Let's hope we see them next time.

We all enjoyed exploring Mousehole and the cream teas in the Rock Pool cafe were a real treat.

Thank-you very much for sharing your lovely home with us. We have had the most wonderful stay. The last few days we had the most wonderful weather and allowed us to explore a few places.
Mum and dad enjoyed this so much and they can't thank you enough. Our day starts with a nice breakfast, before a day of exploring, to return to get fresh fish and use your beautiful kitchen at Seabreeze! Truly home-from-home.

In these strange pandemic times, we felt safe and cosy at Seabreeze Cottage. We were really lucky with the weather, especially at start of the week. With our Cocker Spaniel Jasper, we were out as much as possible, exploring the coast. Highlights included Marizion (good beach for dogs), Tregwainton, Helford (don't rely on sat Nav), Lands End and the Lizard. The Eden centre was still very busy even in second half of September.

Thank-you for all the lovely homely touches,

Stayed here in July. The cottage is lovely and we felt at home straight away. Despite a lot of places still being closed due to Covid, we were still able to make the most of the area. Plenty of lovely walks and Woody our dog loved it, including the beach at Newlyn on his morning walk.

12 Aug 2020

We stayed here for a week in August 2020, just come back, family of 4, 3 adults and 1 14 yr old. Such a lovely welcoming cottage, nice spacious bedrooms and comfy beds. Loved the balcony where the double bed is, sat out frequently with a glass of something! The kitchen was a lovely bright and airy room, where we gathered every evening to talk about our day. Wi-fi good, great to have access to a dishwasher and washing machine and all other amenities you could think of. The area is pretty and so handy for walks to Penzance and Mousehole, Newlyn is a nice village with fab fish and chips and the Duke Street Cafe, where we frequented a lot! We would definitely go back and miss it already. Must mention the owners who are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed (2 adults + dog) last week of October 2019.
I have nothing to add more than that which has already been said previously. A warm welcoming mid-terrace house. Clean and tidy on arrival with a cream tea left out for us to enjoy. The description provided by the owners is accurate. The property is well located for walking excursions which is what we came for. Easy communication with Simon and Jeanette. We encountered no problems at all and would recommend it for a relaxing stay in West Cornwall.

Seabreeze Cottage and Newlyn School of art are a perfect combination.
Thank-you Jeanette and Simon for all the welcome information, the cream tea and all the facilities of Seabreeze Cottage. I was most comfortable here.
I attended the 1 week landscape painting course at Newlyn school of art, which is just around the corner from the cottage-Perfect! The course was excellent and we were taken daily to superb locations on the Cornish coast which provided inspiration for drawing and painting. A wonderful week whilst my wife was helping with the newborn Ceira in Switzerland.
I am grateful for everything which Jeanette & Simon provided in this delightful cottage.

Sea-mist, wind, ragged blue sky & sudden sunny spells. In fact typical Cornwall. Steve & dog explored old favourites, while I painted on windy headlands and the studio at Newlyn School.
Cooked in the evenings here, which has everything we needed, two lovely sunrises which I have plans for.
Although we live near Falmouth, it was so relaxing not drive home after a full day, but to stagger downhill.
Thank-you for the warm welcome, we all appreciated it.

Seabreeze has turned out to be the perfect location for us to catch up with friends in the area and to explore our favourite bits of coastline. we have found this house to be very well equipped and very comfortable. a balcony is now on my wish list! Godrevy/Gwithian has been our favourite beach for 11 years. The boys enjoyed kayaking by St Michael's mount this Easter. A potter around St ives is a must. Love Mackerel sky, but the wait for a table can be irritating. Mousehole has some lovely cafes. National Trust Trelissick is beautiful. Hitting Eden project on the way home. Thank-you!

We all had a fantastic stay at the cottage, it had everything we needed for a family of four. We cooked most evenings & the kitchen had everything we needed. We walked to Mousehole in the pouring rain, and it was warm and cosy on our return. The recommendation of Sennen cove surfing was amazing and Will had great fun there on his birthday. A trip to Tin mine and Newquay Zoo, St Michael's Mount and diner on Fistral beach, make this a truly memorial stay. The kids where very pleased with their easter eggs and thanks for Wills card, we will be back.

26 May 2018

We have just spent a lovely week at Seabreeze Cottage, which was in a perfect location for us, as I was doing a workshop at the Newlyn School of Art nearby. What a special place - it really did feel like a home from home. We loved the Cottage and the decor. Enjoyed our morning cuppa on the sunny balcony, overlooking the harbour. Once we discovered the quiet route down to the village, the walk down was a real pleasure...picked up fresh seafood from the harbour and cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. Newlyn is wonderful... we didn’t bring a car, but we enjoyed lots of walking, and trips by public transport. The arty cinema / restaurant at the bottom of the hill was fantastic. The short train journey from Penzance to St Ives is spectacular. Jeanette was always attentive and kind, and made us feel so welcome.

14 May 2018

What a delightful house! It felt like home from home and was so comfy that we stayed in and cooked most nights. It was a fantastic base for the nearby Newlyn Art School and parking was easier by the school too than in Park street. We discovered the local bakers made the best vegan and veggie pasties and the local cinema also served good veggie food with an arty atmosphere. We walked to Mousehole and Penzance where we took the train for St Ives. Seabreeze was the perfect holiday base. Thank you!

18 Apr 2018

Five adults had a great 6 night stay 28 February to 5th March. We awoke to snow on the Wednesday and more snow on Thursday and couldnt use the cars! Enforced stays in doors were cosy and warm due to the great central heating system and coal fire. It was an exceptionally cold spell of weather. Local shops such as the Coop was open all hours and Stone’s taxis were very attentive, phoning to let us know when one if our group had been collected from Penzance station.

We loved the bright white sheets and towels and all the useful extras in the larder. The welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch. Art galleries, museums, a great meal at 2 Fore St in Mousehole make it memorable and we hope to return in sunnier weather.

06 Mar 2018

Had a great stay here in Newlyn. Spent most of my time up the road in the Newlyn School of Art doing two short courses, both of which were excellent. Seabreeze Cottage was a brilliant base- SO close to the school, very comfy, cosy & complete with everything you could need. I felt very at home. Thank-you Jeanette & Simon for sharing your lovely second home & one thing is certain, after climbing the hill so many times, I will definitely be going home fitter! :-).

'The house is well equipped and in a great location to explore Cornwall'

The house was just as described and very comfortable and homely. Fresh towels and clean bed linen was all provided and the bedrooms were laid out just as we had asked. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge is very comfortable. It is situated on a very friendly street and we found the location excellent to enable us to explore all of south west Cornwall being within a 20 minute drive and lots of amazing beaches. The owners, Jeanette and Simon, were great communicators and really helpful. You certainly got the sense that they wanted you to have a great holiday.

Wonderful cottage in a lovely neighbourhood!

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. We were with 2 adults and 3 children and had enough room for all our things. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and there were a lot of books and games (and a Wii) to play with on a rainy day. The neighbours were very nice and helpfull. Simon and Jeanette are great and the communication was fast and clear. We would really recommend this house to our friends. If you want to spend your holiday in a well equipped house full of character: this is the place to go.

Superb cosy family home in a fantastic location

We stayed at Seabreeze Cottage for a week in July 2016, 2 adults and 3 children. All the communication with Jeanette was effortless and straightforward. The house is a perfect location for a week in fantastic part of Cornwall, Newlyn has everything you need and is an ideal mix of convenience and quaintness. On one side you have Penzance and the other Mousehole - spoilt for choice. The house itself is clean, comfortable and very well stocked with everything you could need. It has that homely feeling when you walk through the door after a day surfing at Sennen or walking in Zennor. Neighbours are friendly and helpful, beds are olympic quality and there's a cupboard with everything you need for the beach (don't forget the wind-breaker!) Highly recommended to everyone!

Review #14486354 “Quaint & Charming Cottage with garden, Sea Views, Open Fire,Parking,Pet friendly”

A real home from home...
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

We stayed 9 nights at Seabreeze Cottage. There's me, my husband and 2 children (10 and 13). My daughter was in a production at the Minack Theatre so we had to make daily trips there which was SO easy from Seabreeze.. this takes about 20 minutes.
The location of the cottage is PERFECT. It's pretty central for day trips to anywhere with stunning views over Newlyn and Penzance from the cottage.
The cottage itself was like a home from home, it was Easter when we stayed and went from being baking hot one day, to freezing and rainy the next so the real fire came in very handy and was highly appreciated! Although, the central heating would have sufficed had this not been an option.

The beds were SO comfy, everything clean and welcoming and a massive folder with everything you can think of in it.

Simon & Jeanette themselves welcomed us by text and were on hand for any questions or problems we might have had.. not that we had any! We WILL be using Seabreeze Cottage again. It really did feel like a second home...... If you do stay there, can you please look for the little piece of my heart that I think I left there....

I thought that the information you sent before our trip was very helpful and the book left at the cottage confirmed things that we were not sure of. Having the coal to make a fire was good. The cottage was nice and warm.

Being where Seabreeze is located, there are a variety of places to visit.

We were not at all disappointed in booking with you and would recommend the cottage to others.

A lovely place to stay and relax

Left on Nov 1, 2015 for a stay in Oct 2015
Seabreeze is a welcoming, comfortable and well equipped cottage. Jeanette and Simon the owners could not have been more helpful and provided us with lots of information about the cottage and the local area. The cottage is well situated for lots of walks and is a great base for exploring this part of Cornwall - we loved walking to nearby Mousehole and Penzance - plenty of places to eat and drink. The cottage was very clean and well maintained - the open fire was a bonus.

A great base for exploring the Cornish coast

We had a very good week in Seabreeze. Of particular note are the comfortable beds, very well-equipped kitchen, and that the cottage was quick to warm up as the evenings got cooler later in the week. The cottage was clean and well-maintained. A nice, friendly road on the hilltop over Newlyn Harbour, and two minutes walk from the Art School.

My wife and myself stayed for a week with our little dog. The communication with Simon and Jeanette was excellent, we were given plenty of information prior to our journey to Cornwall. The cottage is well equipped, homely and has a great character. We met some of the neighbours, they were very welcoming and offered local information. The location suited us very well: quiet and but not far from shops, pubs, even had a view to the sea. Newly itself is close to local attractions, there was plenty to see and do within a 10-mile radius. We had a great stay at Seabreeze Cottage.

A welcoming, relaxing cottage, with great amenities

A comfortable, well provided cottage, which felt a real home-from-home. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge after a busy day and the back garden was a lovely sun-trap in which to enjoy our coffee. There was plenty of information about places to visit, restaurants and how everything worked. We set out for a number of walks directly from the cottage. We certainly managed to fill a week very easily. An interesting and new area for us to explore.

I recently visited Cornwall for a short break with a couple of friends. We booked Seabreeze Cottage for four nights and had a highly enjoyable stay there. The cottage is a three bedroom mid-terrace property in a quiet street. It is located in the picturesque town of Newlyn which has a few pubs and restaurants, and is only a few minutes’ drive from the larger town of Penzance. The owners of the cottage use it as their holiday home and let it out when they are not there. The cottage itself is quaint and cosy and we found it to be very clean. It has a small garden patio area and there are some sea views. It could potentially accommodate up to 5 people. Of the three bedrooms, one contains a double bed, one contains twin beds (which can be configured as a superking bed if required), and one contains a single bed. There is a well-stocked larder of non-perishable foods which guests are asked to replenish if they use. There are also plenty of entertainment options available such as television, a range of books and board games, a Wii console and free wifi. When we booked the cottage, communication from the owners was clear, informative and very prompt. On arrival, we found a folder containing extensive information about the cottage and the local area located in the kitchen. The owners had also kindly left a bottle of wine for us which was a nice gesture. Following our departure, our security deposit was returned quickly. We had hired a car and used the cottage as a base to explore the local area. There are numerous attractions within a short drive such as St Michael’s Mount, The Minack Theatre, St Ives and Land’s End. There is parking in the street outside the cottage. The local roads are narrow and hilly, and we found parking was quite a tight squeeze at times, but this is entirely typical for the area. In summary, we had a lovely stay at Seabreeze Cottage and found it to be excellent value for money. We would happily return there in the future and would not hesitate to recommend it to other people.

We had a great week staying at Seabreeze cottage. All the information we received beforehand was clear and very helpful. We had information by text that the cottage was ready earlier for us and when we had questions about the property a reply came back straight away. The cottage was comfortable and homely with a lovely bottle of wine to greet us. There was also a cupboard full of useful foods which was great as a stand by ( and obviously replaced before we left) The location was great for us as we were at the newlyn school of art . It was close to shops, penzance and bus services. We caught the bus to Larmorna on the last day and walked back to the cottage along the coast path which was lovely. There were plenty of good places to eat and we went to the Tolcarne Arms twice and the Italian restaurant in newlyn which was very friendly and accommodating for a large group. Mousehole is also very close and we walked there for a meal one night too. The added bonus of parking outside or very close was most welcome. Thank you Simon and Jeanette we hope to be back again soon. Janet and Dave

"Charming Sea-Breeze "
Our accommodations at Seabreeze was wonderful. The cottage is cozy, full of charm and comes well equipped . Jeanette was wonderful to work with. Newlyn/Penzance is a great place to explore the Cornwall area from. Loved the coastal walk to Mousehole, the Minack Theatre and our short train ride to St Ives. We, the four senior travelers hated to leave!!! Thanks Jeanette and Simon

"Seabreeze Cottage, Newlyn"
The cottage is very cosy and comfortable with everything you would need. It is cosy but spacious enough to spend time there if the weather predicts or you just want to relax. The beds are very comfortable, everything was clean, the decor was lovely, and it was a pleasure to cook in the kitchen - love the stable door onto the back garden/patio with a view over to Penzance! The owners were very helpful re dog-friendly beaches, etc, and the info booklet in the cottage is very useful. Having stayed in this area for many years, we know it is hilly on foot, but, if able, it is worth the exercise! But, if not, the local bus service and taxi company are very good and not too expensive! Recommend visiting Mousehole (of course, within walking distance - 1.5 miles?), Porthcurno, Lamorna Cove and Pottery/Tea Rooms, Sennen beach, Minnack Theatre, etc. Penzance is a lovely town with shops, bars, restaurants and even an old-fashioned picture house for rainy days. We would definitely stay at Seabreeze Cottage again - we all enjoyed it, especially the kids!
